RFID & barcode inventory — from the handheld to the Stock Ledger.
Your teams scan in the field with a Chainway C72 handheld — UHF RFID and 1D/2D barcodes — and every read flows into your ERPNext. Cycle counts, automatically reconciled audits, assisted receiving and picking: stock accuracy, with no re-keying.
Counting stock by hand is slow — and already wrong the next day.
Annual counts that freeze the warehouse, discrepancies found too late, double entry between the floor and the ERP. RFID and barcodes solve this — provided the scans actually land in your management system, and not in a file on the side.
From field scan to Stock Ledger, with no re-keying.
Aptitude IoT is more than a connector: it's a complete RFID inventory platform that lives inside your ERPNext. Here's what it does, today, in production.
C72 handheld, offline-first
Rugged Chainway C72 handheld: UHF RFID + 1D/2D barcodes. Every read is stored locally first, then synced in batches to ERPNext as soon as the network is back. 'Find a tag' mode with audible proximity feedback.
Reconciled counts & audits
Start a count or audit session: scans are reconciled automatically against your ERPNext stock, discrepancies are computed and reconciliation documents generated — with a reliability score per session and per device.
Assisted receiving & picking
Goods receiving and picking guided by scan, directly against your ERPNext Purchase Receipts and Pick Lists. Fewer errors, less paper, instant traceability.
Labels, locations & fleet
Full RFID tag lifecycle (encoding, assignment, collision detection), location mapping (EPC ↔ warehouse), label printing, and handheld fleet management with remote updates.
Secure connection, LTE or WiFi
Whatever the link — warehouse WiFi or LTE on the road — the handheld stays attached to your ERPNext through our own next-generation VPN, which we built on Nebula technology: a permanent encrypted tunnel, established automatically, with no per-site network setup to redo. Your scans always travel over a secure channel.
Device + Driver. MQTT optional. ERPNext at the end.
Each piece of equipment has its driver. For anything that speaks MQTT it's even simpler: a topic, a JSON payload, and it's connected. The data lands directly in ERPNext DocTypes that you can open, filter and automate.
The diagram is deliberately simplified. A real integration accounts for IT/OT segmentation, proprietary protocols, network security constraints and your ERPNext business rules.
The same foundation also connects your machines.
RFID inventory is our flagship, but Aptitude IoT goes further: the same architecture connects sensors, PLCs and meters to your ERPNext. We continually expand the driver catalog, ready to use for your equipment.
Identification & traceability
Chainway C72 and CP30 readers — industrial Android terminals, UHF RFID + 1D/2D barcodes. Physical inventory, asset tagging, mobile work orders, lot traceability. Connected to ERPNext Stock, Asset and Project.
Industrial measurement & control
Advantech ADAM-6000 modules — Ethernet I/O, Modbus TCP, MQTT. Temperatures, pressures, production counting, machine states, threshold alarms. Connected to Asset Maintenance, Manufacturing or to automatically generated work orders.
Any MQTT equipment
For equipment that natively publishes over MQTT, no custom driver is required: topic + JSON payload, and it's connected. Compatible brokers: Mosquitto, EMQX, HiveMQ, AWS IoT Core. Specific drivers developed as needed for non-MQTT protocols.
No parallel platform. No per-device license. No external cloud.
Aptitude IoT is not a third-party platform we install alongside your ERPNext. It is a set of Frappe modules that live inside your ERPNext instance, sharing the same database, the same authentication, the same user interface.
- A single database — your shop-floor data and management data live in the same system, already backed up, already encrypted, already monitored.
- Open architecture — no external proprietary platform to buy, operate or renew. No per-sensor or per-tag pricing.
- An evolving driver catalog — we expand it continuously through our R&D; you start with drivers already developed and proven.
- Quebec hosting — ERPNext and Aptitude IoT run on your infrastructure or ours, here. No cross-border transfer of your production data.

Four concrete scenarios.
Warehouse
Real-time mobile physical inventory via Chainway readers. Cycle counts, RMAs, guided picking, lot traceability — each scan updates the ERPNext Stock Ledger directly.
Production shop
Production counting from PLC counters, efficiency calculation (OEE), SMS alert to the on-call supervisor when a threshold is exceeded. No manual data entry at 5 p.m.
Preventive maintenance
A work order is created automatically when a temperature, vibration or operating-hours threshold is exceeded. The maintenance supervisor opens ERPNext and sees the prioritized queue.
Building & energy
HVAC monitoring, energy and fluid meters consolidated in the same dashboard as your operations. Energy costs allocated by cost center, automatically.
